Alvogen's Suboxone: Frequently Asked Questions

Alvogen's Suboxone: Frequently Asked Questions

There are different types of Suboxone on the market, and Alvogen Suboxone is one of the buprenorphine generic brands currently available to consumers.

Suboxone is a prescription medication most often used in the treatment of opioid use disorder. When taken as prescribed by a doctor, this medication can alleviate withdrawal symptoms and prevent relapse when used over the long-term.

As with most prescription medications, Suboxone is now offered in a generic version to reduce some of the costs to consumers. If you’re in need of an affordable Suboxone prescription, Alvogen Suboxone may be suitable for you.

Is Alvogen the same as Suboxone?

To understand what Alvogen Suboxone is, it is first helpful to recognize that the Suboxone brand provides a name for a prescription medication containing a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine is the active medication in Suboxone, and it helps with cravings and withdrawal symptoms by occupying the same brain receptors that are activated by opioids. Unlike other opioids, buprenorphine does not create a feeling of being high.

Naloxone, on the other hand, adds an additional layer of protection by acting as an opioid antagonist and blocking the effects of opioid drugs. This means that if a person misuses Suboxone, they will begin to experience withdrawal symptoms.

In summary, Alvogen is a different brand of the medication containing buprenorphine and naloxone. It contains the same substances as Suboxone and is therefore chemically identical, despite going by a different name. In this sense, Alvogen is the same as Suboxone.

What Is Alvogen?

Suboxone is the brand name for buprenorphine/naloxone, but there are also buprenorphine generic brands on the market. Alvogen buprenorphine/naloxone is simply a generic brand of the medication, created with the intent of providing affordable opioid addiction treatment to those who need it.

Alvogen launched its generic sublingual film in 2019, and it is available in multiple strengths. Generic Suboxone film doses from Alvogen begin at 2 mg of buprenorphine and range as high as 12 mg of buprenorphine per sublingual film.

Can You Get A Suboxone Prescription Online?

If you’re looking for opioid addiction treatment and are in need of Suboxone films or another one of the different forms of Suboxone, you might be interested in getting a Suboxone prescription online. The good news is that Federal lawmakers loosened restrictions on controlled substances like Suboxone during the COVID-19 pandemic, making it possible to get a prescription for this medication online.

Before the pandemic, patients had to have an in-person appointment with a provider before receiving a prescription for Suboxone. Now, patients can access their care  virtually using audiovisual or telephonic technology, so there is no need for a physical office visit to obtain a Suboxone prescription.

While it is currently possible to get a Suboxone prescription online, it is important to keep in mind that the pandemic is winding down, and state laws regarding controlled substances may change in the coming months.
